Katrina UPDATE

September 7, 2005

Dear concerned friend:

After Hurricane Katrina, the LEAN team began to take action towards supporting community needs.  On September 1, 2005 we organized relief efforts with Senator Boasso's office and our supplies were dropped down by air craft to St. Bernard residents, who were still stuck in the distraught area.

Since then, we have organized relief to the communities of Washington Parish. On September 3rd and 4th our team drove to Pine and Hackley, Louisiana, an area hit by the northern eye wall.  We delivered supplies such as food, water, medicine and special supplies for the young, elderly, and disabled.

On September 6, 2005, we purchased supplies such as food, water, medicine and hygiene products, which are being delivered today, September 7, 2005, to the citizens of St. Bernard and Plaquemines Parish.  With the help of Senator Boasso's office, our supplies will be sent by barge to the people in those parishes.  Additionally, we will continue to reach out to people that are in areas of need. We are also delivering by truck supplies to 40 fisherman who are on 25 boats near Houma. We are driving to them to make sure that they get the items they need

Donations can now be given through Paypal and network for good at www.leanweb.org.   Please visit our updated site.
