Dear Friends,

The LEAN team would like to thank you for your support.   We are so grateful to all of you who have sent us your kind donations, words and prayers.  During this trying time, we have energized our team to be mobile and efficient in getting need to those who have lost so much.  They too, more than you will ever know, are so thankful for your generosity.

On September 7th, we got word that citizens in Bogalusa, Louisiana were in dire need of diapers, baby formula, and toiletries.  We immediately organized a relief effort and on September 8th our team drove to Bogalusa with a large truck full of such supplies.

Monday, September 12, 2005, LEAN delivered a pickup truck load of bottled water, baby food, diapers, hygiene products and some cleaning supplies to a distribution center (Bethel church) near Franklinton in Washington Parish. They were gratefully received.Additionally, we found out that there are over 15,000 people in Lafitte, who need cleaning supplies to start cleaning and rebuilding their destroyed homes.  A second LEAN team left this morning (September 12) to bring mops, and other cleaning goods. The roofs of the homes in Lafitte were blown away by Hurricane Katrina. The folks there are battling mold and mildew and racing to save their homes. We purchased cleaning supplies, mops, cloths, dust masks and powdered milk at their request. It is being delivered today.

Once again, thank you so much for your kindness and we will continue to keep you updated on our effort.  Also, please feel free to pass this letter along and encourage people to visit our website at www.leanweb.org. May God bless you and yours.

With deep gratitude,

Marylee Orr
